Is marriage necessary to live a successful life?

I DONT think personally that marriage is necessary for a succesful life...I believe that marriage is for those who think and act 'homely' and are really interested in looking after a family...otherwise, marriage can only be a thorn in your flesh...

i dont lik bein alone ..i hate it ..so i guess i do a life partner and wt better way than mariiage ..so for me i guess i do need one who is always bu my side

Marriage is totally optional and not only is it optional it does not need to be done to create a sucessful life. My aunt has never been married and does not have any children and she lives a rich and sucessful life that she loves, she definately is happier than any single person I have met, it is definately optional.

It depends on the individual. You can be single and very happy and content.

Some people have been incredibly successful without marriage. To be honest, I wouldn't want to link marriage and success in life - you really don't need one to get the other.

Marriage is actually detrimental to a successful life in some cases! I think marriage is an institution, and an unneccessary one at that, a piece of paper from the state doesn't make a love stronger, neccessarily. And if you never get married, you don't have to get divorced!! :)
