Why a couple must hold hand to start a relationship?

Why why..why? A couple should always start with hold hands? Is it the same thing for others?Maybe that's the basic link between one another,or that's the most polite way to start a relationship to avoid rejection from one side,but what is the actual reason behind?I wonder...

I don't think it has anything to do with manners or rejection. It has to do with physical contact. Feeling close. I still hold hands with my husband.
