Without having given birth, I know that right after you have a baby you can loose a lot of weight pretty fast. If you wanted to loose a lot of weight by the end of the year how would you do that do you have a guide or plan that you would follow. Or would you make up your own program to loose weight, and if you did what would you include in your plan? Would you only eat certain foods, or would you just use portion sizes, would you weigh every day or just every so often, or not weigh at all and go by how your clothes fit.

the fastest i ever lost weight was 60 pounds in 3 months. but that was gruelling. BUT I have a new record of gaining weight. 120pounds in a year. i was in an accident and i was disabled after that. i got diabetes and it all went downhill from there. i want to go see another doctor. the current one wants me to fast for a month. thats crazy.

Your doctor wants you to fast, and you're diabetic? How on earth is that going to help you? It's probably going to send you into a diabetic coma because your blood sugar will be too low. I would suggest getting a second opinion. That doctor sounds like a quack.

Anna, if you're recovering from pneumonia, then that's what you need to focus on first. Your body is under stress and won't want to release the fat because it feels it needs to conserve resources. Deal with that first, and then make a clean start of things once you're better.

I have never heard of a doctor wanting someone to fast for a month, that would be very hard for the majority of people. I have gained a lot of weight in one year but I was pregnant at the time, the only thing is I have never lost it, that is bad, I have a lot I need to loose. If I could loose 60 pounds in three months that would be great, I would like to loose a lot more than that total though, when you lost that much were you exercising a lot? I have been trying to exercise as much as possible but I get so tired so easy, and it does not help that I am recovering from pnuemonia, I suggest you don't go catch that, it costs a lot of money, especially if you have no insurance, the only way I can see that I can ever pay it is if I can figure out how to make lots and lots of money really fast, but right now anything I make is slow slow slow.... Maybe one of these days my income will improve.

Hi! Im not sure about the losing weight after giving birth thing but in regards to your title question I have lost weight in about a month and kept it off for 6 months. I didnt feel that I was losing weight either until I gained them back.LOL Its because I was having so much fun. Well, the main reason why I lost weight is because of my P.E. classes. We would play sports 2 days a week. One is for the PE class itself and one is just for fun. No rules.^_^ I have to tell you that I lost most of the weight with badminton. We would play for at least 2-3 hours a day. Then the following semester we had basketball. Its not so much rigorous as badminton because there are lots of players and there's only one ball so the work is split among us. In badminton its all you. With my diet, I didnt change it. Maybe I didnt eat snacks in the afternoon anymore but with my meals and whenever I feel like eating something I wouldnt think twice about it. Its a great feeling because I can eat whatever I want whenever I want without worrying about gaining weight. So, the fastest way to lose weight is to have fun and be constant about it. Set a day in a week and a number of hours where you would play some sport or something but most of all have fun. Hope that helps. Goodluck!^_^

I think you are right, I remember a very long time ago when I used to be thin, I used to be a lot more active, I was also not in as much pain as I am now, I think weight gain causes lots of pain, hopefully I will start loosing weight soon, I am trying very hard.

Im sure you will get to your weight goal. I can sense that you are very determined and thats already halfway there. Im not an advocate of diet pills or anything but my Mom and Dad are using one. My Dad takes it for health reasons because at his age and his condition(had to take out his gallbladder because of stones) he decided to live healthy and the first step is to lose his excess weight. My Mom takes it just because she wants to (no argument there.LOL) My Dad's first attempt was with Xenical, its very very costly and the side effects are LBM especially if you've eaten even just a bit of fatty foods. Now they've stopped and moved on to another pill. Im not sure of the name but Ive seen the box and it has the words "Shaping Body" or soemthing like that. They love it because it doesnt have any side effects and what it does is to control your palate and appetite. They always say that even if they are very hungry, when food is presented and they try to eat, they say the food tastes a bit bland and so they just lose their appetite. It is very effective though. I can tell because my Dad used to have difficulty finding a comfortable pair of shorts(size 38). Now, he as problems keeping them(the old ones). He's now using size 36 shorts. Just thought to share it. Goodluck!^_^

Thanks I am really wanting to get this weight off, but I am leary of diet pills and surgeries to loose weight because I am afraid of the side effects, which can be serious. It is good that your parents have decided to work on getting and staying healthy. I wish I would of just not gotten unhealthy to start with. I got sick years ago and then just stopped exercising, then seemed to catch everything coming and going for a long time, and when that happens you really don't feel like exercising, then even when your healthy you have just gotten out of the habbit which makes it hard to loose weight. Anyway I am trying to break bad habits, and I am doing much better than I have in a long time, I would be doing better than I am if I had nt caught pnuemonia last month, but at least I am fairly healthy now, and I am off all the medicines except the thyroid medication. So hopefully I will start loosing weight soon. I did loose a good bit with the pnuemonia but that is not really the best way to loose weight, lol. I want to start using a jump rope again, I used to love to jump rope, but right now, I am so heavy I might really break something, but maybe if I am careful I can still do that. I am starting school back this month to, so I will need to be doing something so that I will be able to retain whatever I learn, exercise is supposed to help you retain things better. Anyway, thanks for responding and for the encouragement,. and I hope your parents reach their goals whatever they are. and have a great week.
