How do you move from one state to another?

I have the task of moving my family from Pennsylvania down to Florida because not only do they want to live their but my stepfather works for a resort corporation that has agreed to relocate him to whichever of their resorts in florida he wants. Well I am clueless on what to do. I have been doing countless hours of research trying to find a place that is safe and has affordable housing, jobs any jobs. Mostly a place safe to raise my son. How do you do it though? What is the easiest way to go about moving from one state to another? Any suggestions?
