Why do people enjoy 80's music?

The 80s... - I love the 80s...

I think that a lot of people in my generation, and especially the generation before me, are really into 80's music based on Nostalgia. I was born in '85, so this doesn't apply to me as much, but a lot of the kids who were born from the late 70's to the early 80's listened to 80's tunes (and I think this mostly involves 80's pop-rock) as a kid and remember it well. I know I remember growing up with a lot of 80's (my uncle listened to it into the 90s.) It's so over the top that you can't help but love it, because it's so over enthusiastic and wild! The 80's music is great! But I also love big hair and neons. Maybe it's just me...

In 1970's and 1980's music used to be adored by those who devote a lot of time and many of them practiced music just for the love of it. Now it is so much commercialized and many people have taken it up as a part of entertainment business, making money. Though there is nothing wrong in it, it lacks the real grace, genuine interest and involvement and hence it appeals less and less than what we used to listen in 1980's.

I enjoy 80's music because I grew up in the 80's. I was born in 1983, at that time the music was magical to me, still now when I listen to it I wish I had a timemachine and go back to that magical decade, not just for the music but everything around it..

I love big hair and neons too and 80's music is also great :) I was born in '86 but heard a lot of 80's music around the house growing up, also a lot of 70's and 90's though and I like all of them. Being into the cybergothic scene myself they have a lot of neon and fluorescent clothing and accessoiries so it's easy to combine; it's also pretty close to darkwave which a lot of cyber goths also listen too (well you can't say every single one does but a lot I know do ;)). I just love nina hagen, the cure and one of my all time favourites is karma charmeleon.

I was a full blown hot blooded teenage girl in the 80's. A little scary but very curious about what life would bring. For me, musics in the 80s accompanied me throughout my teenages year. Manifying my hopes, my dreams, my anticipations, my joy, my sadness and my fears. Now that I am a middle age adult, I still feel nostalgic for those years. Whenever music of the 80's flow to my ear, it never fail to bring back the memories of those years.

i thimk that is the real original music with real and creative composittions made by some of brilliant minds and it still now ruules the countries world wide and this is just the simple and clear cut difference between compositions made by experienced singers and lyricists and songs sung by reputated singers!!!!!and the singers of today are ok but thier songs cannot be saod as evergreen types!!!!!

no i agree i love the 80s too, i believe i like it because most of the music was upbeat and different it did not all sound the same. also the videos were great, it is not the same like videos now days either with hot girls, pimped cars or something like that. a great video i think is the robert palmer video addicted to love! that was so different. do you agree? also to me anyways, in a lot of the videos they used a lot of props like hats, boomboxes whatever to make the video appealing. Where you are from do they have an all 80s radio station at all? i do not think we have one here that would be awesome if they did. I would like some responses if possible!
