mother in laws

Does anyone else have a problem with thier mother in law? Does anyone's mother in law treat them very poorly with their spouse is not in the room. My mother in law is absolutley terrible to me, tells me I have accomplished nothing in life, I just graduated with my BA let me add, but I have not accomplished anything.

That is SO horrible! Isn't being married to her kid an accomplishment in your life? Congrats on the BA - don't let her get the best of you. You should be proud, it's a great accomplishment! Maybe she is just jealous.

Thank you. I am not sure what it is. I dont think she looks are her own child as an accomplishment unfortunatley, she looks at him as a failure, I have began to notice and realize that a lot more lately. I dont know what more she wants of him it is really sad.

That is just so sad. My mother-in-law is pretty much useless to me, as well, but I can't imagine her coming out and saying anything hateful to me directly. If she considers both of you failures - maybe it's better if you distance yourself from her, even if for a little while.
