These two days I have been dreaded by the question:what is the meaning of the punctuation and pronounciation fo "O'Neal".I am become crazy about that,could you do me a favor? Thanks in advance!

That is a pretty strange question to be "dreaded" about! But I am going to try and help you out. O' indicates "the son of" Neal. I think Neal may mean powerful or strong. So a strong Irish guy named Neal was well known enough that his descendents were known as the sons of Neal or more generally the sons/descendents of Neal.
