Well the number one antidepressant mentioned in this article is Paxil, which happens to be the only one that I take. Now I can not speak for everyone, but I can say that Paxil has improved my depression and thoughts of suicide and not made it worse. According to the study, they have found that no one has actually committed suicide on these antidepressants, but the thoughts seemed to be increased in some children as well as adults. What has been your experience with antidepressants and thoughts of suicide? http://www.everydayhealth.com/publicsite/index.aspx?puid=b573a615-d786-4ec9-9cd4-70faa25be0d4&p=4&xid=nl_EverydayHealthEmotionalHealth_20080707

I don't take anti-depressants. If you're depressed, take the natural ways.... (1) take leisure trips in the park or the countryside (2) smile genuinely (3) help other people, you'll feel better when you see how grateful they are (4) talk to children, you'll be surprised of what they could say and offer (5) enjoy your usual cups of tea, coffee, milk or whatever (6) take a long vacation... the beach, or the forest, etc.

Hmm.. I'm manic-depressive. But I guess it's not that severe because we can get away with it. Our race uses laughter to curb depression. But since u mentioned about medical things, i will have no thought about it.

I don't think I have ever been depressed but I have struggled with anxiety. I was actually on Paxil for a while to treat my anxiety. Personally I didn't like it. It took away my anxiety problems but made me feel like another person. If it makes any sense at all when I finally got off of them I felt like I was brainwashed, if that made any sense at all. That's just me. It's different for everyone and if it works for you then that is great. I am glad you found something that works for you. I know a person who is depressed and has anxiety problems and she can't find anything to help her, she is also a young girl also. The second time my anxiety started to get really bad the doctor prescribed Prozac, now I liked Prozac, it worked for me. If I had to go back on Prozac I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't go back on Paxil though. Just my experience with it though. If it works for you that's great and I hope that it keeps working for you.

I know exactly how you feel. A friend of mine was on Prozac and actually put her head in the oven and the side of her face has a permenant burn scar. I have another friend who was drooling on Paxil. I have been taking it for eight years and it works fine for me. But I had to try several different meds before I found Paxil.
