If you joined MySpace, why did you join? Same for anything else. I'm making an attempt to drive traffic to my own forum in hopes of, one day, having a huge community to come home to.

I have joined myspace, facebook, and myyearbook, plus many, many others. To help get out my children books. As I'm an author

And did it help? If so, how much? For an author, you're pretty vague.

Myspace actually did the opposite and repelled me, after seeing a few pages with hideous backgrounds and godawful music. I came to the conclusion that it was full of people I had nothing in common with. I've not seen much to dispel this. Facebook I signed up for socialising articles I write, and eventually ended up with my friends and family from the UK on there when I emigrated. Blogspot I use simply for linking articles from multiple sites. Livejournal I actually use as a journal when I bother to write in it, which isn't as often as I used to. Life is fairly static at the moment. del.icio.us, stumbleupon, reddit, digg, and probably a couple of others, I use as a combination of bookmark storage and article socialisers. AC and Helium I joined for the green folding stuff, and for somewhere to keep my hand in at writing. Same reason for ficlets, only without the money ;) There's links to all of these in my profile if anyone's feeling an urge to look; Follow the top banner to the blogspot blog, and everything's linked from there.

I am a member of friendster and multiply.. these were a ways of communicating with my old friends, getting in touch with them.. and there's lot of blogs there that I am fond of reading.. I am not a member of myspace, for there's only few Filipino who are logging in there.
