I cried my head off for the last 40 pages. I'm not gonna tell why so not to spoil the fun, of those who hasnt. I simply couldn't believe it! In fact, I started HP 7 with the feeling that it was a mistake, that it didnt happen really, but to my disappointment IT did happen. For those who understood me, what did you feel about it?

I felt the same as you Evviesands. I think that woman was not in good shape and took me until now to start the last book. I said to myself oh my God she will kill everyone by the end of this book. I really thought was not necessary, but lets see.

OK, I must confess that I read both book six and seven in one sitting. Both were so well written and the story was so gripping that I actually found myself unable to put down the books until I had reached the end. Perhaps it's the luxury of hindsight of having finished book 7, but I was shocked by what happened at the end of book 6. It was unexpected and it was sad. I actually phoned my mother to tell her about it. I think the end was both sad and yet hopeful. You could see how much the main character was affected by the end of book six and you can see how it would shape the character and how he would react to certain situations in book 7. In a way, books six and seven are a marked contrast to the rest of the series. From books 1 -5, you have many dark adult themes but there was always a happy ending so to speak. However, in book six, the ending is decidedly not happy - it's very dark and unlike the end of Star Wars Episode 3, you can only assume to know what will take place in book seven. Life is no longer about a Happy School life and a miserable time at home at the end of book six. I think she was also very clever in making us want to read the final book.

I was a little shocked at first, but as I thought about it, it was just so much like all the other epic hero adventures, wasn't it. The hero has to be left to face his nemesis alone, without the aide of the wise mentor. So, although I was certainly sad, it seemed like it had to be. My question was, was it going to be like star wars, where they communicate from beyond? And it kind of was. Harry did get to "see" him again, in a way.

Please dont spoil my fun! lol! I'm just in the middle of HP 7, and it's the best book ever! Now I'm getting to understand that it was necessary for Harry to finally face life by himself.
