I did not know where to put this, but what a mess it has been.

Awhile ago I got a Laptop, and all was going well for a few months, then I decided to add Yahoo messenger. I started to run into problems, I did not have these problems on my Desktop computer. I tried everything I knew to fix my Laptop, and nothing worked. Then I remembered someone telling me that messenger can mess up a computer, so I decided to uninstall it, after all the other things I've done the past three days, and guess what?, once I took messenger off, my computer is back to it's old self. I am doing the happy dance. I thought I would have to Re-boot the whole computer. I have also decided to not be lazy and delete cookies at least once a week and do a disk clean up. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone before and what did you do to fix the problem? I have to say many weird things did happen. Pages would not load, not even help pages from Microsoft, could not even do a Restore point or anything, nothing would load up for me, and I was tearing my hair out lol. I even went by my books and all that I learned in the past. So please tell what you do when something like this happens. I'm really glad to be back!!!

I am glad you are doing the happy dance. I have not had any dealings with yahoo massinger. I do not want to be interrupted while working on the computer.

I don't mind having Yahoo messenger, just not on my laptop. Most of the time I'm invisible anyway, I just wanted to stay in touch with family and close friends.

Congrats on getting your computer to working again. They are so awesome to have yet they can drive you so crazy when they are not working right lol. My computer will act stupid a lot when I download free stuff on the net or sometimes when I add a program from a disk. I think it is because it eats up so much memory when we do these things. Sometimes I will reboot my whole computer and sometimes I will just uninstall the things I installed. Those are the only things I know to do when my puter acts up like that.

God only knows what downloaded programs are running in the background that we don't know about. I usually try to find out what programs are running, as they will slow the computer down.

Yahoo messenger does not create those problems, I have used it for 10 years!! The reason why that happened is because you were behind a firewall somehow. If your computer has Windows Vista, There is a Yahoo Messenger for Vista. http://messenger.yahoo.com/vista Now if you do not want to download the program You can use the Web messenger version of Yahoo messenger http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/ or type the shortcut web.im in your browser (supposed to be a shortcut lol) I am glad you got it going, but i cannot say that has EVER happened to me because of yahoo messenger. I was behind a firewall, and once I turned it off, Everything worked for me!
