Do you pay attention to the body language while talking to people whether it be friends , colleagues or for that matter people you have met for the first time ? The way they sit or stand, eye contact, the way the arms are crossed, how still they are,,..... Many of us may or may not be aware of it, but we receive non verbal communication in the form of signals which may communicate the way a person is feeling.

I do watch the body language very carefully.I just like to know how much the opponent is enjoying my presence. The moment I get the signal of boredom I fly away. Correction: A second before I get the signal.

Alok I am a good observant. At least that's what I would like to believe. lol.. Being an introvert I love to watch people in a mall or any public place. It's fun actually! And when I am talking to a person , I can sense something is wrong by his/her gestures or even I can tell by his/her glance or stare that the person is not at ease or kinda down. I can tell that he/she is at comfort level or not. But that's it. I can never judge what he is thinking or how good or bad he is. In fact I have been fooled many times. My mom keeps telling me that I am a silly girl, even the normal instincts I cannot sense!

We all start to learn from observing, then make our own inferences. We go wrong sometimes, but that is how we learn. Keep doing it as you enjoy it and you will over a period of time see your abilities improving.

Yes I do.And I think that I am fairly good at it too.I can easily find out whether the person I am talking to is honest ,sincere or a fraud.I will understand whether he likes the conversation or got bored up.I can even find out whether that person likes me or not.

I rely on the reading of body language BIG time actually. If anything it is the most important thing that I pay attention to. Especially seeing as I am dealing with people a lot of the time where we do not share fluency in each other's language so I need to source other validators sometimes and this is one of the most accurate "tells" there is! The words may state one thing but the body will always tell the true things!

Very Good point made dear! I observe the fellow on the other side very keenly, while communicating with him/her. I pay special attention to his/her body language and other gestures. His body movements tell me whether he is listening to me with intent or otherwise. His body movements reveal a lot about his inner thinking and what is going on in his mind. Also, when I see two persons talking to each other, I love to observe their body language and gestures. I have noticed that some of the persons, always make gestures, while talking to fellow on the other side. They are so habitual of making gestures that if they are explaining any route or way to some fellow on a telephone, they also make gestures. If I notice it, I tell them, please do not make gestures on telephone, the person on the other side is not in a position to view your gestures.........LOL!

Thanks for sharing it. Observation itself can be very interesting and humorous at times.

When I talk to people, its always with an open mind. I dont even bother to watch for body l anguage, for if I started watching that, Id probably forget what I wanted to say, or not be as coherent as I would like to be. I take people at face value more often, and still enjoy it.

Face value by what they say, but i'm sure you would be unconciously watching the facial expressions as well. Thanks
