Do you think the history taught in school today is worth it?

The kids are unnecessarily burdened with learning about those buried long back. What have the kids to do, knowing about those people. Instead, I feel history should be replaced by Practical knowledge. The kids should be given practical exposure to real life. The kids should be able to face the world with courage. The history of the past ie. the different battles, etc. has nothing to do with them in their real life. Do you agree with me?

Though I agree that certain events in history doesn't have anything to do with kids of today.. then again, things today wouldn't have occured if the events in history didn't take place.. Recognizing a sense of history is still important to understand why things at the present are occuring. Makes more sense when we'd also consider certain events in other countries' history. Having a sense of history grants us that sense of origin.. Though honestly, I did think that history didn't matter when I was studying it but, its fascinating to realize the things happening at present, be it those that we take for granted or not, ended up that way due to the events that occured before.. it also helps us to avoid repeating things that we really don't want to duplicate from history..
