making money with reviews

So i just thought of something. So with the paid to write reviews thing on your blog, do you actually have to buy the product that you are reviewing or what? whats the deal with that? I need to know because I am thinking about submitting my blog to some of these sites. Thanks for your responses and have a good day.

A lot of times, the company will send you a free sample or product if you agree to post the review.

I was curious about these sites as well. I've got a lot of free time in the winter to pursue other ways to make money. I made quite a bit last winter and now residual income from it is going to be nice in December.
I'll check back to see if anyone posts a response.
