Has anyone ever read this book by Stephen King? I've never read this one but have read many of the things he has written. I did how ever see the movie that was based on this book so now I think I need to go get this book and read it. It was very interesting. Scarey at times but then again most of his books and movies based on his books are scarey. Scarey but interesting makes you wonder if you have to have a slightly twisted mind to write some of the stuff that are in books now days or just a very creative mind. What do you think about his books and movies based on his books?

Sorry, I opt out of Stephen King. I read "Tommmyknockers" and I still remember the poem in the beginning of the book. It starts, "Late last night and the night before. Tommy-knockers, Tommy-Knockers knocking on my door." That story will haunt me for a long time. That was the first and last book of his I ever read, so no, I never read "The Dark Half". I've wondered what kind of mind does produce those chilling and bizarre thoughts? It's good for people who think like King, because they know they are not alone with their scary thinking.

I think he is just from the older generation where there weren't alot of video games and crap like that so used their mind more. Better imagination? Maybe he had nightmares when he was younger and expounded on them. Never know. I can write scarey stuff if I wanted to. I love to write but then again I came up in a generation where computers were around but not like today and video games well does atari ring a bell? dang that dates me...lol but yes we thought of games to play back in the day and were outside a lot more than kids today. Now I tell who's mind I worry about is the ones that have written those movies Saw 1,2,3,and 4, shivers. I love scarey movies.

I worry about the kids as well. There are some really disturbing movies out there and kids watch them. The current generation will be our congressmen, president, CEO's. They will hold the positions of power that will shape our society. What are they learning? I don't think there's anything wrong with King; maybe he did get those ideas in nightmares. It's good he can write about it. I think you're telling me there's a difference between scary or weird, versus gory and disgusting? Spooky and alternate thinking like Kings is creativity. The latter shows lack of ingenuity and integrity.
