If I looked back to when I was 10 or 11 I'm sure I'd ONLY remember being happy too, but it wouldn't be the truth. Even then I had pressure and worries. I had to study hard and try to pass my 11+ exam, which made the difference as to whether I got in a Grammer School (A big deal in 1960) or went to the local Secondary Modern. My mum was ill more often than she was well and as I was anything other than the 'young lady' my parents expected me to be I was probably in trouble more often than not. That's the thing about Nostalgia, we only remember the good things and childhood is only 'care-free' when you are looking back from an adults perspective. We all feel down and over-burdened at times and want to go back to some time we see as 'better' but that doesn't make you 'sick' it just means you are normal! LOL

I feel your pain. I watch Gargoyles, X-Men, and Spider-Man because I miss those days so much. I cannot get away from the nostalgia. I watch old Power Ranger episodes just to get my kicks. I miss the 1980's and 1990's. *Drinks a can of Tab*

Nostalgia.... I don't think you're the only one who feels that way. For me, nostalgia is when some things remind you to something else happened in the past, usually good things. Watching at old cartoons reminds me that I used to be a kid and happy....

I'm in the same boat as you. My past is the direct effect of my depression. I keep thinking about the times that were and I desperately want to go back. It just sucks that we can't, you know? I know I somewhat happier back then. There's really not much you can do, but keep the past alive in the present. What helps me is finding and watching the old shows that I liked. It's not quite the same, but I feel more comfortable.
