why close 600 outlet of starbucks?

news had it already from bbc, cnn, nbc that starbucks are closing down 600 of their outlets. Why? share your opinions and also informative facts will be welcomed. =)

Funny you say that because where I live I have been noticing a new chain of coffee houses that look very similar to startbucks but it is called Esparks, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. However in a recent article I read on www.CNN.com it said that these 600 stores are being shut down because they are near another starbucks and it isn't profitable.

maybe they are closing the shops that are not really earning much. i saw a new starbucks near the mall here at our place so this is a puzzle to me too, thats why i think they are just closing the shops that are not making much. it is only a waste of time and a waste of money if a shop will still go on while the earning is not enough. i love starbucks drinking their coffee makes me feel good specially in a not so nice day.
