Does position equate respect?

Do you automatically exhibit a higher level of respect for a person due to their title or position? For instance do you automatically respect the Pastor or Rabbi of your church? Do you automatically respect the CEO of a company?

Yes I would. Someone who has reached a position such as you have described has done so with learning, hard work and experience. Also if they are associated with religion then there tends to be this automatic respect. The degree of respect would vary based on my actual experiences with these people
