Prayer is important, no matter what

I think prayer is a very important thing to do in life, no matter what religion you practice or what higher power/god you believe in. I think it is a good spiritual practice that keeps good "energy" in and around you; it can serve as a self-reflection thing or a source of hope and optimism. I think it helps your soul stay "healthy" like a good diet and exercise keep your body healthy. Do you agree?

Yes i truly agree with you Prayer is the most powerful to do in life no matter what affiliate religion you have in life. Prayer is the best tool to combat all the odds in life. It gives us strength in life if just say prayer. About me, when i have problem either financial, material things, i just go to church or any place to say solemn prayer to GOD just asking HIM that all my problems will be solved. Then after the day, the result comes and it give me ease. marilyn23

It is a very interesting question, but let me present my views, which may not be the same as yours. Firstly, you very correctly said that prayer is a good spiritual practice, so it keeps the energy in the body flowing and also brings in a lot of positive energy. However, one needs to broaden the scope of prayer - a prayer should not just mean that you are praising the Lord or asking for something. It could also be a silent meditation on God or just about life. A silent introspection into your own life will also do great things! Secondly, it has been shown scientifically that words have a lot of healing power too, so in that sense, soothing prayers with fine music is really beneficial for each person. So therefore I fully agree with you in this regard.
