It hurts on seeing the world filled with selfish characters around now isn't it? in olden day's selfish characters were not big in numbers and as the days pass on, this seems to have increased now isn't it? it's really sad and it doesn'ts eem to be improving and why don't peopel change and go back to old times when most of them were toooo good in heart?

I think that in any period of history there have been good and bad people. Some people are selfish today and as many people were in the past as well. It only took one selfish and evil person, that is Hitler to start World War II and kill many innocent people. I think that all children should be taught to respect other people's differences, be tolerant of different religions and to care for the environment.

I don't believe the world is filled with as many selfish people as you may think. Here in the United States you can find examples of people going out of their way, on a daily basis, to help others. In the United States we have something called Habitat for Humanity which brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing for low-income households. It is hugely successful and even have international branches. Also you see people volunteering for everything from building playgrounds to working in soup kitchens. There are a lot of selfish people in this world, but there are many who give of their time. Lloyd

I think that there are just as many selfish people as there used to be, we just live in a world where we have the communication to see them all. People in the past just wouldn't have known of the selfishness in other countries. I mean, corruption ect. has always been around. It just seems like there is more because its publicized. Celebrities who take advantage of people are nothing new.
