what do the stars near your username mean?

hi guys, probably there are hundreds of similar questions, but i can't seem to find them...
i just reache 100 posts, and i got a yellow star near my username, with a number 8 in it... what does that mean?

it says your reputation. congratulations you made 100 posts. and congratulations you got 8th out of 10th thats too much good. I god only 4 when i first reached 100 posts. You do keep rating others and also don't forget to mark as best response. It helps to increase the reputation.
