How to get maximum responses?

What topics do you consider will drive maximum responses from responders?

In order to get the maximum response always try to start the discussion that must interest the maximum of the people here on the site and in order to get more you can do one thing that is looking at the latest discussions and the burning topic of the world that can attract a lot of the people towards the discussions either.
So what i do is that i just see the topics having the maximum responses and taking idea from that just start a new one from me and i am able to attract the suitable people there.

I'm trying to figure out that as well.
Mostly I only get 1 or 2 responses to my discussions.
Some of the discussions can reach more than 50 responses.
I guess it has something to do with the topics.
Find one that interests everyone.

It's not just the topic that makes a difference. If you have more friends, you will likely have more responses too. Few friends mean fewer people will even see your discussion to be able to respond to.
