While online school is great for people who have other obligations such as jobs, etc..I personally prefer campus colleges. I just recently graduated from one. I like the experience it has to offer. I had a lot of fun meeting people, attending events, etc. Sometimes that is not for everyone so at least they have the option.

Yeah you have a good point. I have kids so I am attending online at the moment. But one day I do want to attend the university just to get a feel for it.

At my school, they have family housing so if you really wanted to live on campus it's not impossible..

I would always choose a campus college life. Well, I prefer live the experience. When I was in college, I met nice friends, experienced meeting other types of people as well. Diverse cultures and even opposite attitudes as I have. Being in college, and school in general for that matter, it prepares us for what lies ahead. The harder challenges in the future. It gives us a sneak peak of what life is after school. You meet and interact with different people. You even encounter conflicts. You learn how to deal with responsibility and more. Taking online classes is, I think, really is just there as an option. As intended for a few specific groups of people, those who need this. It is always better to have an option. As one of my friends said, may not be exact, "As far as I can remember, life was doing well before the internet.". I'd have to agree. Take care!

I got my degree in commercial art at a regular campus college and I loved the whole experience but starting next month I will be working with an online college for a degree in medical billing and coding. I would have to say I would never try this with art or any other hands on type of trade but since medical billing is on the computer I feel I will be fine. Not to mention the fact that now I have 4 kids, 2 of which are both going to school through Florida Virtual Schools and I need to be home to help them. I guess it would just depend on your personal situation as well as what you are trying to study.

i prefer campus college. that way i get to focus on my work more. i took an online course once and i found myself neglecting my work just because it was online and i can do it anytime. i also like campus college because you get to interact with people in a hands on way. i dont mind online college; i just prefer campus college

I feel the exact same way. I attended a campus college and I still had some online classes there. It was very hard for me at times because I felt like putting it off since I never had to attend class physically..

I think campus college is much better than online college, simply because campus life is real, is fun, I mean it's not virtual.. you get to know people for real there.. hang out with them.. communicate using all 5 senses.. and not stick in a room in front of a machine!

Yeah I wish I could attend a college campus but as you see with my situation online campus is better for me since I have children running around everywhere. But when I move to NY and after I am don't with my associates degree then I might go into an actual college.

I did both the online thing and the campus thing. Truthfully, I didn't have the discipline to continue online. There were way too many distractions that made it too easy to slack off. With campus college, you actually have to GO, which worked better for me. It sounds like you have both the home life AND the discipline to make online college work for you. I give you ALOT of credit for that. Good luck in your completion!
