Are you and your significant other competitive?

I've been in a relationship for about 2 years now, and we're still fairly competitive when we play cards, or sports, or anything really. It doesn't have a negative impact on our relationship although I do sometimes pout if I'm losing! I only ask because my girlfriend decided to take up running this week and while she's an athlete she's never been a runner. I was the runner in high school and college. However, now that she's said that I feel the need to start running again (i'm horribly out of shape) so that she doesn't show me up. It's ridiculous lol. Thoughts?

Yeah. I hate it if we are playing something and he is not being competitive, because without competition then there is no point in versing someone. We were playing Mario Party on the Wii and he beat me, so I pouted for a while too. I do not take it to heart if I loose, but I prefer to win =D

Yeah I also don't like being told after the game is over that she let me win. I don't want anyone to let me win, it defeats the purpose as well. So if you're not going to try tell me before the game starts so I don't think I won because I was good at the end lol.

I think it's fun to have a bit of competitive fun. My guy and I play a lot of trivia and spend a lot of time 'competing' on random factoids. We also wrestle and race each other. It's good bonding time, for us, and it helps keep us active -- none of which are bad.

Me and my bf are very competitive, but the same as your relationship, it doesnt affect us as a couple. I think its just a bit of fun really lol!

It is fun, for sure :) And since she's going to start running again that means I'm going to get myself in shape as well. So it's a win win. Hopefully we'll start running together, that would be a fun thing to get into I think.
