Why do people think this is ok?

So I was out a bar with my girlfriend and a few of her friends. It was my first time meeting most of them. They all got a little bit drunk, some more than others. At the end of the night one of them came up to me to tell me how lucky I was to be dating her, etc. Then finishes the conversation off with "if you guys weren't dating I'd make a play for her." Really now, why would i want to know this information? Tell all of your friends if you wish, but why tell me? Craziness. Anyone have an experience like this?

Someone once told me drunken words are sober thoughts. I have not experienced this and am not sure how I would respond to it.

I've heard this too. However I myself have said things while drunk and then the next morning I'm like where on earth did that come from?!

I don't get that, really, but I'd choose to think that he was complimenting you on your taste in women.

It wasn't right for him to tell you that, but what can you do? You can't exactly confront him about it. Just shrug it off and let it be.

Not really but do not really care much. He was just provoking you for the sake of it! Pfffffff
