I think I have a trigger finger (only its my thumb). I can't bend my thumb very well and it hurts. Kind of locks into place. I have heard that surgery is about the only option. If so is it expensive and what is all involved (outpatient, local, etc.)

I've been diagnosed with trigger finger a month ago by my family doctor. He suggested giving me an injection but I refused. I hated anything that is invasive. He also suggested that if my trigger finger doesn't go away, surgery is the only option. But when I asked him how the surgery is performed, he was kinda vague. I guess he didn't want to scare me. He ended up giving me some anti-inflammatory medicines but they don't help in either making my trigger finger go away or relief the pain associated with it. So I went online looking for information about trigger finger and I found this very informative website. This is the link. It's not an affiliate link. http://www.davidlnelson.md/Trigger_Finger.htm I don't know how much a trigger finger surgery would cost. I'm trying to find out about that too but unsuccessful.
