Is it advisable to buy referals from PTC's?

Is anybody here doing that? Buying referals offered by PTC's to increase your income. Let's face it, $0.01 is too little an amount and 30seconds sometimes can be like forever. And hard trying to get people signing in thru your links. And then you'll see these offers of PTC's wherein you can buy referals.
Do any of you here buy them? How was it?
