My 4 year old boy wets the bed at night and that is it. He never has any accidents during the day. We always go before bed and he sleeps in a diaper. However I always change it in the middle of the night because he goes. I believe that he just sleeps so hard that he does not wake up. Every once in a while, he will wak up and go to the bathroom, so we must be getting somewhere. My three year old daughter never pees in her bed and hasn't for about 6 months. I have always heard that girls learn this better than boys. I feel bad for him because he is embarassed when he is wet. We try not to make a big deal about it. I also tell him that I had accidents when i was little, too. That seems to help

Not all kids bladders mature as fast as the kid does that is why they make things like Huggies Goodnights and now Pampers Underjams for kids who do not have bladder control at night. My son never had issues with bladder control at night but my daughter does she is potty trained during the day but has to wear a Goodnight for bed or she will soak her sheets.

My oldest son, who just turned 21, wet the bed for years. I bought into some program with a...doohicky...that you place under the sheets and causes an alarm to go off when he peed. It didn't work at all, he slept right through the alarm. My best friends daughter wets also. We found the common thread is that they sleep so deeply that they just don't wake up when their bladder is full. The only thing that seemed to work was to have them go right before bed and them wake them up to go a couple of hours later. It's not fool-proof and mattress covers are still a necessity. They eventually grow out of it.

My 4 year old still wets the bed also. We have tried a variety of things with him but, it seems that nothing really works for him. I am thinking that it might be a bladder control problem of some sort. We even tried having him go before bed and then waking him up but, he either wet right before we woke him up or went an hour or so after he went back to sleep. My fiance is totally against the overnights which is an option for us due to his age but, my fiance says it is too much like putting him back in diapers. I would like to see him wash our little guys bedding every day! I know what you are going through and if you do find something that helps please let me know also.
