The weather can be quite varied in some parts of the world. In Singapore I found that it was cloudy but very hot. In Samoa I found a clear blue sky and the weather was quite hot. I know that the weather often goes cloudy and cooler than normal when there has been a hurricane like there was in the Cook Islands. I really love to go snorkeling whilst in the tropics. However the color of the coral doesn't look as bright as normal when the sky is cloudy. It is far more colorful and can look spectacular when it is cloudy. I hope that that sky will be sunny when you next go to your local beach. Good luck.

I don't know an exact scientific reason, but I guess it has something to do with the large amount of water evaporating from the sea and the temperature difference of the air above sea and above land. Also, the wind blowing from the sea to the land during the day should bring the clouds to the shore.
