Remember that song "Don't Worry, Be Happy"? Well, apparently, getting and staying happy is a real problem for most people. Happiness isn't a state of mind, or is it? If you look up happiness in Wikipedia, it will say that happiness is an emotion that people experience periodically, but not on a steady basis. However, there are people in this world that claim to be happy all the time. Is it possible for people to be happy all the time? I guess I'm with Wikipedia on this one, but still there are some who will try to convince me otherwise. There are people who have written books on how to get and stay happy. Here's one that's free http://www.howtobehappy.org/happybook.pdf. The question is, do these books really work and, if so, how come more people aren't happy? Are you a happy person? If you are, what is the secret to your own happiness and do you think everyone has the ability to be happy all the time?

I personally think that everyone face ups and downs in life. Thus, happiness is just part of life, not half of life. In life, we come across different situations- happiness, grief, stressed, confused, hopeless...and others. But it depends on us how to manage these situations. I am not really an ever-smiling person because I have personal problems too but I try to aim at happiness which is a very precious wealth. I like others to be happy because of me, because in life, we must live for others' happiness.

I believe there are certain things most people require for them to be happy such as peace of mind, security, and a mostly stable life. Even though everyone has bad times that threaten their happiness, it is the ability to overcome these setbacks that help most people such as the ability to be optimistic and see the good in bad things.

Personally, happiness is a state of mind. I don't think there're people who can stay happy all the time though.
