Midnight showings of movies

My fiance and I went to see "The Dark Knight" last night at the midnight showing. It was the first movie I've ever gone to see at a midnight showing, and I almost couldn't stay awake for it! I was just SO tired by the end that it didn't matter how wonderful the movie was, I just wanted to sleep! The theater also had some technical glitches, including the movie STOPPING abruptly in a very major action sequence. There were some very unhappy movie goers in the theater. However, they did give us free passes to see that or another movie later. But I wonder just how many times the midnight showings of movies glitch like that, because I've heard stories from other folks about disastrous midnight movies. One story includes a raccoon getting into a transformer and killing the power to a whole strip mall, including the theater. Got any good disastrous midnight movie stories to share?

i don't recall having problems with any midnight showings i'd seen-but did have a major one with a 7pm showing.it was for "the bermuda triangle('77)". that movie broke so many times, people were booing and leaving the theatre. i actually lost count how many times it broke.they offered no refund either.

Every time I've been at a theater when the movie has broken, they've offered a refund. I don't know if the theaters near me have always just been super accommodating or if they were concerned they'd have a riot on their hands!

my nephew also went to the midnight showing of the dark night last night. haven't heard from him yet. about disasters. the theater i go to had the ceiling tiles come down at one time. i wasn't there but those that were were watching a movie where balloons were coming down. so when the ceiling tiles were falling they thot that it was part of the movie. what a coincidence.

That is a pretty crazy coincidence! Scary, too, though, because a falling ceiling tile would hurt a lot more than a falling balloon. :)

They don't do midnight showings where I live which is a shame as it would be good if you were watching a horror movie. I've never had or seen anything go seriously wrong at the movies, though once I qued with my dad to get into see Jurassic Park for about an hour and we didn't get in as there weren't enough seats.
