Yao Ming has been given credit for spreading the NBA to the Far East and becoming a marketing icon in the sports world

I think it's great that Yao Ming is becoming an icon in the sports world. He's the only chinese guy I know in basketball, which is a sport dominated by black men. (There are caucasion, but more black men) It encourages asians that they can become a basketball player too!
