Some information about the Hindu Calendar?

This is a request to my Hindu friends. Could you tell me the names of the months as per the Hindu calendar? Or direct me to links that will give me the information? I need to the know the names of the months, when do they start and when do they begin, the meanings of the names, their significance...in short, anything and everything about the Hindu Calendar.

I was born and brought up a Catholic. So, naturally, my knowledge about Hinduism is limited. This is just an attempt to learn more about my own country and my own people. :) Plus, I am developing a very strong interest in Paganism, and Hinduism comes under the umbrella of Paganism.

i can help u in this,the hindu calender startes by the month
1."chingam"
2."kanni"
3."thulam"
4."vrishchikam"
5."dhanu"
6."makaram"
7."kumbham"
8."meenam"
9."medam"
10."edavam"
11."midhunam"
12."karkidakam"
these are the months but in hindu astrology the months starts from "medam" to "meenam".and if u needs more like the number of dates etc i can also giv it to u
