Does a free horse really need a bridle? When a man tries to curb the animals freedom for his own agenda-he uses the horse to convey him to different places is when a bridle is needed by the man to control the horse. So basically you are saying that the man is a horse with a bridle and religion the load that he has to carry, whether he wants it or not? Going further, what is religion? It is man made concepts of ways to live your live peacefully without transgressing others freedoms and rights. The idea of a God is again made, do animals have a God? I am not trying to decry God or a religion, just saying that your analogy, if thought too deeply can be wrong and can have many connotations. To my mind, religion (and God) should be the crutch that helps one through crisis and joys in life, not a load. No offense intended.
