It may be very rude for the oil companies to do that but we can't blame them anyway. For one, there really is a global oil crisis nowadays. And yet our government is not cooperating so well with the situation. They should have scrap the evat and the other taxes they impose on oil companies to lessen the prices somehow.

Either way, its a win-win for the oil company. If the govt removes the taxes on oil, the oil companies gain, if they are taxed, it is passed on to the consumers. On the lighter side of things, if the taxes on the oil companies are continued, at least the government has funds to build schools, roads, etc.....

With gas prices sky rocketing we now can't afford to go home to Nueva Ecija and I am missing my siblings a lot.

It's not new. When I heard the news that they rollback for a peso, and I say to myself, of course, because next week, they will increase 50% or more. They're just making us stupid. I wonder, what will be the minimum jeepney fare next year, Php20?

That sucks.....but this is a global problem. Gas prices are being driven up by speculators and they should be stopped! Businesses are going under because of this problem and the oil companies consistently churn out millions in profits every year. just a classic example of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

the average person will say that the global market dictated what had happened. look through the facade and you'll see that the government in connivance with the oil companies are manipulating the local prices of oil so they can maximize their profit. do not believe the lies being perpetuated by these lying, stealing, and cheating regime!!!

Yep. It is funny how prices change drastically. It seem crazy at facevalue. However, filipinos need to understand that the government, well, most government's economic strategy is let the market be. Free hand. And, I would agree on this. we maintain a decent inflation rate because we let the market dictate its own price. The government just need to prepare safety nets for the people.
