thumb sucking or dummy

i know my dad said that i sucked my thumb but when he smacked me i never did it again but my daughter sucks her thumb and she is 8 years old and i have a thumb sucking spray and she does not like it i tell her that your teeth will become more bad if she keeps it up my son used the dummy until he was 4 how about you did you use a dummy or thumb sucking let me know your thoughts.

WOw ! I'm sorry you got smacked and I'm glad you didn't do that to your child.
I assume that by dummy you are refering to a soother. Soothers are bad for children period. They cause problems with teeth.
I sucked my thumb until I was about 6 years old. My parents tried everything! They put tabasco sauce on my fingers and that anti-nail biting stuff. What actually worked was my mom would put a bandaid on my finger. If I didn't suck my thumb that night I would get a gold star sticker for my bandaid. If I sucked my thumb again my mom would take the sticker off.
My ex boyfriend... at the age of 19 still sucked his thumb... he was really screwed up... definately something you want to stop now.

no i didn't smack her because of it but i said you will get bad teeth even the densist told her that too she is missing 2 teeth because of thumb sucking.
