here is a little inspiration....if we use a cloth bag we can save 6 bags a week. 24 bags a month. 288 bags a year 22176 bags in an average lifetime if 1 out of 5 people in India did this we could save 4435200000000 bags in our lifetime. china has banned plastic bags thus saves 37 million barrels of oil each year think about doesn't this make a better tomorrow for our next generation

Plastic never bio-degrades, it will be here forever. It's a shame we ever invented it. We hurt our own planet. Some grocery stores sell re-usuable natural fiber bags for a small fee. And if we don't want to buy those, then yes, I agree. We need to return to using paper. But then we really shouldn't be chopping down anymore trees, contributing to global warming.

Plastic is really harmful to the environment. Re-using plastic bag is one way of helping the environment.

Another thing about plastic that you may not be aware of is that it is made out of petroleum, which is in very high demand at the moment. for every plastic spoon, bag, toy etc that you throw away, is more gasoline that could be made. Metal or paper is much better to use as we are not adding to the pollution as severely. But paper also creates pollution when we manufacture it. We need to realize that every action by us has a reaction to the environment.

Well, using paper bags would only aggraviate teh problem (chopping more trees isnt a good idea), but maybe there's a biodegradable material that can be gotten without harming the planet :O
