If you ever win in a lottery, how are you going to spend your money?

Many people find luck in the lottery nowadays. We can't blame them, there are no other ways to have big amount of money in a sanp unless you try a bet. So, if you will win in the lottery, how are you going to spend your money? If i will, half of the winnings will be placed on my savings. The other half of it will be divided into five. 3/5 for my 3 siblings' savings, 1/5 for my grandparents since i don't have any parents left, 1/5 for the breast cancer foundation - which will help the indigent cancer patients to be given free chemotherapy and lazer treatment (of which disease has caused my late mom's death). How about you? How do you want to spend your money if you win?

If I win the lottery .. (that is a nice thought =)) I would first clear off all my debts.. Then.. Put half of the remaining into my savings account.. Then.. Convert 1/4 of the remaining into Malaysian ringiit and put it into my boyfriend's (which is actually mine but under his name as I am not Malaysian and can't open a bank account) savings account.. Then take $100 out of the remaining to bet in lottery again... Then give my mum 1/8 of the remaining.. and the rest of it will be placed into my expenses account (for rainy days). Hmm...

that would be an expensive rainy days' preparation. just like the others, it is better to clear all debts prior purchasing stuff that ain't really necessary. good luck on your next bet!

I can only imagine being lucky enough to win something let alone a nice sum of money. If I did thou, I would first pay off all bills, bills of the families too, all kids would get a house and some land. Parents would be taken care of course so they wouldnt have to worry any during the retirement. I would buy property and rent it out so that we wouldnt have to worry to much about money. Seeing that we have totally rebuilt our own and are still working on it I would finish our house too. I would then figure out a way to help the homeless and hungry. There is alot more I would like to do but the rest is to help others. *sigh* what a good fantasy =)

The key to having money is reinvest, reinvest and reinvest! Good thinking! You will certainly go far, especially now with the property market on the rise! Which property are you thinking of going into? Lank Banking?

yes i sometimes do buy lottery in the hope of winning. i've had daydreams about winning the lottery and had already planned how i want to spend the money. our lottery winnings is usually a million for most draws so i am going to assume that's the amount i win. i'll use 1/10 to rebuild the cattery that i used to volunteer at. a lot of the fittings are getting old and in need of refurbishment. i'll give 1/10 to each of my parent, my sister and my partner. i'll use the remaining to buy a bigger home so that we will have more space. if there's any left, i'll bring my parents on a holiday. thanks for starting this topic. it's such a wonderful feeling to be able to daydream about it. cheers ;p

This is one of those things we all dream about at one point or another, or at least I have... If I ever win a lottery, I'd buy myself an nice apartment complex so I can have a place to call home, then rent the rest of the unit out... Then travel the world few times, then buy a restaurant with bar in it & hire all the family & friends so that they don't have to worry about a job for the rest of their lives... I would surround myself with good people every night at my restaurant & just enjoy good food & good life... I would want to donate some to good cause as well...

I honestly don't know what I'd do with it, except that I know a good deal of it would be going into my savings, haha. Then after that, I'd use the money to pay off my student loans and my study abroad coming this fall, and live in questionable luxury for a few months in a nice apartment while I took up a simple part-time job to give me something to do. I guess I'd spend that time either partying or trying to write.

it is good to use the winnings productively like financing your studies. at least, it will last a lifetime. education is the only thing in this world that can't be taken from a person. you have a nice plan!

If I won the lottery I would help my son pay his bills. He has three kids and his wife and he are buying a house. That would free up money for them. It wouldn't be so tight financially for them. Than I would pay off my husbands brothers house and give like one thousand dollars to each of his brothers and sister. He has one sister and four brothers and himself makes six. Than I would take some and invest it. Hire someone who knows the ins and outs of investing. Then I would open a IRA and put a good chunk in it. Put a good amount in a savings account. And put some in a checking account. Then I would take a good long vacation and my husband and I would have some real fun. That is what I would do if I won the lottery. And of course I would give some to charity.

I would probably want to buy a plot of land out in the countryside and build a farm, one of my stupid ol' little dreams is to work on a farm, and working on my own farm would be even better. It'd also probably get me fitter and healthier then i am already- which is a particulary good thing because not only would i donate some money to charity but it would also mean i'd probably beable to run in charity events and so on :) - thats one of my life dreams as well.

I would put money into savings but first take care of reducing some of my debt and taking care of what needs done around our house. We are in need of new furniture as ours is on its last legs. Definitely help the family/friends out. It would depend on the prize, but if it was a large prize like in the Powerball I would just take family and friends down to lotto office and just divide up prize there and they would have their part and I would not have to worry later about it. I think this way would cause less friction as well. As far as donating the money I don't know what cause I would give to. I know that I would be able to afford to do my part in helping to not pollute the environment. I could afford a hybrid or electric car, solar panels, and alternative methods etc. It is nice to dream but for right now I will just continue to post and save.

well, winning a lottery is a dream which I have kept for many many years. If this dream comes true, fistly maybe I will get aswoon for several minutes and then begin to plan how i will spend the money. All depends on how big the prize I get, if only a little amount, of course, I have to save it in my bank account. abd if really big enough, then, i will donate one fifth to the charity ,one fifth to my younger sister, one fifth to my relatives. and two fifth for my own business. For my parents, to give them money seems meaningless because they live together with me.

If I won the lottery, I would retire the next day and go home to my hobby farm and live the same way I do now except without having to go to work. It would not change my life other than not having to go to work and allowing me to do what I really enjoy.

I don't really have much luck with lotteries. My sister has luck in winning lotteries with smaller prizes. But if luck comes my way, first and foremost I would pay off all my debts. Then I would use the rest to travel and maybe invest some of it.

If I won the lottery, I would throw most of that money into savings accounts. I would have an easy time getting my education too, and every few months I would go on vacation to the places I have on my list! Life would definitely be more easier, but I will refrain from putting money into the lottery.
