Do you take your kids with you, when you go out for a coffee or to eat?...

Here,in pizza places,or mc donalds,or restaurants,or every eating/smoking/drinking coffee place, parents bring their parents too, no matter the ages, from diapers to school ages... and of course, what could that kid do there, except from running all over the place, shouting, making noise, bothering the others, and including the parents that are trying to eat or talk..and in the end get bored and sit at the table and eat some unhealthy food?.... I never understood why mc donalds for example has a special place for kids...to play..is that food really for kids? it's one of the most unhealthy foods ,and still people bring them there..i once saw a grandma with her grand daughter, who was very fat, both eating a big menu with burgers and fried potatoes...that girl will have health, weight, and aspect problems when she grows old... it all leads to obesity..don't we care about their future anymore?.. Or why celebrate their birthdays there, take 10 kids, place them on some chairs and serve them pizza?... i have a better picture of how those kids could have fun..like..in the mountains?on a trip?a barbeque,to go play on the green grass, among the trees?...in a park?... I don't know, hope i didn't offend anyone, just trying to show my point of view, and hear about yours

We have always taken my son every where except high end, dress up restaurants. He goes to starbucks, coffee houses, etc Even my 4 year old nephew has been brought to these places since he was a baby. If you have a well behaved kid, you can bring them anywhere.

i remember when i was little and my parents took me to the restaurant, and i was sitting at the table and look at them dancing a blues ,and looking at the other kids running around, asking myself why do they do that for?... then the waiter came and ask my mom if i am ok,or if i feel sick of something, if i just sit there and do nothing.. and he took me in his arms, and showed me a room full of big colored parrots,i could see them through a glass behaving has good effects,eh?:) but not all kids are like that

LOL If my son saw other kids goofing off some place that he knew it was okay to do so, he would be running around with them.

Hi there heartonfire I do see your point. I have no choice to take my kids with me because I am a single parent family but I don't choose to go to these places if I think my children will misbehave. I only take my kids to McDonald's for a treat which is usually once every 2 - 3 months. I think it would be great to do a birthday party in the mountains, a trip, or a barbeque. I am looking for some good ideas for my son's 8th birthday next year and want to do something different but the problem is that it is in January! Cheers

Well it has certainly got my braincells moving that's for sure but I have two other younger children to think about. I am not sure how many 8 year old boys and girls I can handle plus my 3 and 5 year old!! LOL

My loves to go to Mcdonald´s but we, responsable fathers just don´t make that a way of living, just once a month or even less we go there. We dont´t want a unhealthy and fat child. But unfortanely some parents tkat to that places their childrem. It´s easier that making a healthy home soup or meal .....
