Golden girl Sophia passes on

I was very upset to read on yahoo new the other day. This show is old from the 90's but ever since I was little to this day this lady makes me laugh. She was a great actress and comedian. She was my favorite golden girl. Did you know that she auditioned for the part 3 times. Only on the 3rd try did she get the part. It was because she didn't look old enough. When I was little I didn't know it was a wig and all that makeup making her look old. Do you like the show and who is your favorite golden girl

Yes I loved this show when it was on I always watched it as for the best Golden Girl that would have to been Sophia I think she made that show.She has been sick for a few years so lets hope she is resting in peace.You have a great night.Welcome to mylot

I am upset to hear that myself. I liked her alot on the golden girls. I also like Betty Whites character on the show also. But, sophia was myall time favorite.

I loved the Golden Girls and I am only 34! My Grandma and I used to watch it together. We would laugh so hard....now I'm a littled bored by it when I tune in, but probably because I think I saw every episode at least twice. But I still have warm feelings about the show simply because my wonderful late Grandma and I shared it together. Dorothy was my favorite but Sophia was a close second.

Very funny woman. Golden Girls would not have been funny without her. Didn't she also do the "Where's the Beef" commercials?
