ADHD increasingly common in older kids

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is on an increase for older children, while the rate holds constant for children under 12 years of age. The study didn't investigate why the increase in one age group was so much higher than the other. It found the percentage of older children diagnosed with ADHD has been rising by 4 percent each year. While the findings are not conclusive, it carries in it the chances of misuse of ADHD medicines as a study aide, and as a recreational stimulants. Also it gives a feeling that the results of the study may have links with the marketing of the new meds that are prescribed by the doctors. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080723/ap_on_he_me/med_adhd_older_kids;_ylt=AhCyyR1rNHaHInry6E_SxyOs0NUE To find more details on ADHD.. click the link above.
