Today a friend of mine visited my home. Though she is not a close friend of me, we were working together for an year in an office. I do not know much about her. Just today I found that she has OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. For those who do not know about OCD: It is an anxiety disorder with repeated compulsions to meet the obsessions. I noticed my friend doing some repetitive actions like repeated hand washings, doing things repetitively. When she closed the fridge, she was not comfortable and she opened the fridge again and again and closed the door. I was surprised. Even after washing her hands, if she touch her own dress, she feels that her hands have become dirty. She washed her hands after touching even her own body, thinking that her hands have become dirty. She cleaned that part of the body too. She was not even aware of her actions many times. I just want to let her know about this. Are there any suggestions or tips to remove this anxiety? She is pregnant now and I think this OCD may affect her parenting. Can you please give me suggestions so that I can help her to get rid of this OCD..
