If you live in a condo, would you rather have a cat or a dog as a pet?

Dogs need a lot of space, right? Cats only need sunshine, a bed and a toy? I wonder if it would be better to get a cat than a dog if you are leaving in the confined space of a condominium? Anybody help?

I would say a cat is easier. We have 2 cats and a dog and the cats don't need much attention until they want some. Dogs you have to take outside to use the bathroom where you can just put a litter box in your house for your cats and not worry about them going out. They are also more calm then dogs. I would probably stick with a cat.

Thank you. Having a pet cat does sound more sensible, and based on your personal personal experience is the best thing to do. I'll have to forego my wish of having a dog at least until I can move to the countryside where the two of us can roam as freely as we want. Thank you so much for your advice, and for dropping by. Happy mylotting.

I'm more fond of cats than dogs. Since I was a kid, I love cats. Most of the time if I see stray cats in the street, I adopt them.

You adopt stray cats? That is so altruistic of you. You must have a lot of cats by now. Actually, once or twice I wanted to take home a cat I saw on the street, but they would not let me get near them. What's your secret? Thanks for dropping by and happy mylotting?

If I lived in a small condo,I would much rather have a cat.Cats dont need much space, and almost all cats are small enough. But you could have a small breed of dog in your condo.

Yes, having a cat sounds sensible. A dog might get bored and start tearing the place up :) or it might get lonely and get sick since I am away most of the time. Better to have a cat then. Thank you for dropping by and take care.

we Live in a condo and honestly it really depend on you and how much you are home . We have a small dog cavalier king charles spaniel. Well i am a stay at home mom so the dog is never alone for long only when we go out for a little while. So a small dog does work in a condo, but research your breeds first because the guy downstairs has a jack russell terrier, barks all day long . So i would say not all small breeds would work well in a condo. Cats now they are more independent and you dont have to worry about them as much when you leave. I personally like cats and dogs . They both make great pets and i am sure you will enjoy which ever one you choose.

Actually I love all animals, but I am partial to dogs. If I lived in a small cottage in the countryside I would have all kinds of pets, and lots of dogs to run around with. But I'll be living in a small condo, and working all day long, so I worry if I get a dog it will be too lonely and will lack exercise and might bark all day long just like your neighbor's. So I guess a cat will do much better. It will be the perfect complement for my pair of lovebirds haha
