I got married the day after my 18th birthday. That was a little more than a year ago. My husband and I don't argue, we constantly get along. We've been through a few rough times in the last year, but it was worth it all just to be together. We dated for 3 years before we got married. He's my everything and I couldn't imagine life without him. I grew up with strong relationships around me. My great-grandmother was married to the same man for 62 years before he passed away. They were the happiest couple I had ever seen. You could see in their actions as well as their eyes the love they had for one another. My grandmother and grandfather were together 40 years last October. They're still going strong. And my mom and dad have been together for 20 years and are still going strong. I have been around strong love filled marriages my entire life and it just fits for my marriage to be the way it has been.

I am 58 and have been married to the same man for 35 years and still love him. I think marriage is a wonderful thing as long as the two people who are married love each other. All the other differences can be worked out if the people are willing to work them out. My husband and I come from two entirely different parts of the United States and we had to adjust to the way each of us thought about some things. Marriage is not a easy road to travel but at the end of the road is the most beautiful relationship a person could ask for. My husband has stood by me through my many surguries and never once walked away. He is my steady rock and I love him very much.
