Do you think men sub consciously think that they are born to have the ability to have multiple partners?Do you think that it's right to have one spouse? "POLYGAMY" can be defined as any form of marriage in which a person has more than one spouse.Do think it's right?I know it isn't but I still wonder why this happens. We can't men be contented with one partner?Isn't so expensive for men to have more than one partner?Imagine this..a man having several partner will have to spend money on each girl.. Don't get me wrong here..I am just wondering why we have this type of relationship in our society. But even in ancient times they already practice this kind of relationship. This is just for discussion and I don't mean to hurt men here.Needing for an answer.;p

no,i don't .I've seen a lot of faithful guys and i still have positive thoughts on finding the one for myself.I think all the things existing here is for some certain reason.Since it's working fine for most couples and the stability of the society,i think it's reasonable

I think it depends on the society that they are born into, having a polygamy marriage is expected in some societies and it would make a man an inferior one to have only one wife. Whereas in other societies including my own a man that has polygamy marriage is illegal and if he is a polygamy relationship tends me frowned on by most people as monogamy relationship is expected from both men and women.

I am sure men do have more than one wife in my country too and keep them a secret, but these are very few. I also suspect that there are also women with several husbands keeping them secret. In a society where equality is promoted, I don't think a man does anything that a woman doesn't.

Hi elixiress.;p Correct it depends on what country you are born into.In our country it's illegal but some still chose to marry more than one women and hide them somewhere. But no secrets can't be revealed eventually these men will be caught of marrying more than one girl. But as expected to country like ours monogamy should be practice. Thanks for posting elixiress.;p

Yes, I do believe men are born polygamous. But it should not give them a license to womanize. I still admire those men who remain faithful with their partner in spite of the fact of them being polygamous. Meaning, they choose to do good over following what they are born with.

Not necessarily. Some people are happy with one partner. Others feel the need to be with more people.

Yes we are. That's basically our nature. But I'm not adopting that kind of principle in life. I rather have one love, my one true love. Besides having other woman is pretty expensive. Others are high maintenance. No offense meant to women in general.

That's nice to hear. It's good that you want to have just one woman in your life. And you are right that having other woman is pretty expensive.lol I guess for some men practicing polygamy adds something to their ego, that they are in control and that they are superior men.My point here is that if you are not happy with your relationship with your present wife why not end it the legal way and continue the relationship with the 2nd one.Anyway reckon thanks for the reply.;p

I don't completely agree. It depends from person to person. Even some women have more than one partner. But i agree that the percentage of men being polygamous is much more. This is so probably because the norms of the society are more in favor of men. And they know that they can easily get away with anything.

I agree karyjo that there are some women having multiple partners but not marrying more than one husband.Men has the tendency to marry more than one wife regardless what's their nationality or religion. And society sometimes is unfair bec. they are in favor of men for practicing polygamy. :c Thanks for the post karjyo.;p

men being polygamous?i don't believe they're born with it.it's a matter of choice. i wouldn't want to be married with a man who has many wives.i'll be a loyal and loving wife, hence i deserve a devout husband.

No. That's a bold thing to say about half the population in general. I don't like it when someone generalizes things because everyone is different. I can honestly say that the multiple marriage thing is not for me. I'd like to find a significant other and hold on to them for as long as they'll have me.

Well, my religion (Islam) have give me this ability to marry 4 wives not more, but there is a condition to do that, the one who do that in our religion as our book the Quran says (he must be equal and justice with his wives), but for me as a muslim I dont like that and I just have my sweet wife that I will live and die with her. And not all men think like that even if the religion give them the authority to do it.

Nope, don't think so. I've seen also a lot of women who are polygamous. lol Maybe it just happened that you encountered most of those kind of people. But it doesn't generally speaks to the majority. Are you troubled with a polygamous partner? hehe.. Just curious......

Thanks for the reply. And I am not having a problem with my partner.I am happy very much happy and never been happier with my partner and I am confident to say that he is not capable of doing such a thing. I had that problem before with my ex-husband but I am not bitter about men and generalizing them for being polygamous type. This is just for discussion though.
