Is the picture an influence when you respond to a discussion?

While looking at the 'discussions with no responses' area, and viewing the list of started discussions, I noticed that my eye was more attracted to the people who had an image as an avatar, rather than those which kept the green image of no avatar ...and I don't think it's because I can't see the person or so, and I am curiouse how he/she looks like, or that I am influenced by the person's aspect but it's more like..you get to think that if that person was too lazy or got no interest in adding a pic to the profile, not necessarily a personal picture, even an avatar..then they might be too shallow in their participation also.. What do you think?and are you also tempted not to give too much attention to the people with no avatar?.. I specified 'tempted not to'..because I am just tempted not to, but I don't do so, after the first view goes away, I focus on the subject of the discussion and only then decide if to reply or not

I do look on the avatar and the name and that gets me an idea who they are. With the green face, I have no idea what that person is, whether she loves to cook, loves her dog, loves scenery, is an artist, etc. The green face does not show me what the person is like. I will answer their posts with the same attention as to the others, but I wonder why cannot they make a picture, and upload it. I can understand if they are notorious, that they do not want to upload a photo of them or where they are, but they could at least draw a flower or a bucket or something.

I get confused, if the ones with the green face have similar names. i do not like writing private messages either.
