What do the stars by our names mean on myLot? Also, does the color of the star mean anything in particular? I know that this may seem like a silly question, but I think there is a yellow star by my name so it has me wondering? Also, are there any other things like this on myLot that I should be aware of? If I know now, then maybe I can avoid having to ask later?

The star with a number stands for your reputation. But it is also manipulated by some especially by group of friends who keep on rating each other positive, the plus sign after the response or comment. If you have a lot of friends, you have a high probability of having a good star rating. But there are also those that are happy in rating others negative. 
I am a victim of that. So be careful here and avoid fighting with others, okay.
You can also increase your star rating by having a best response. So always post quality response with good content so that others will mark yours as the best. Good luck and Keep on posting!
