Thinks to be proud of in your country

As we all here come from different countries, we are more or less patriots of some countries. Why do you love your native country, or the one you are living in? What makes you feel there like at home? I was born and raised in Ukraine, and although i'm not currently living there, i still love it very much. National dances, bright culture, opened people, and beautiful landscapes is what makes me be proud of it. you are very welcome to share your own thoughts...

I love my country the Philippines. Apart from its majestic landscapes, heart warming personalities, values and cultures of the people living in it, and its lovely tropical climate I have one thing that I am most proud of. The passion of the people to stand up for what is right and who they are. True that you may hear in the news so many bad things about my country but honestly we are way better off than some other country out there. This July 28th a countrymen of ours went to an official government meeting wearing only his loin cloth a.k.a. bahag(a traditional tribal outfit from where he governed) and I must say that made me proud. Some critics may mark him as a fashion-less individual or some craze nut, but for me (and many others that I know of) he did us proud and showed us our heritage our culture and that we should not be afraid or ashamed of it. I pity the people in my government who does not see the potential of every single one of my countrymen/women but then again they don't deserve my pity.

Amazing :) your country is very exotic for me, and from your story it seems that your nation is very united and strong. I think it is great that people value their land, no matter how strange it may look for others, and when they are going against traditional globalists views. without them our world would be boring and looking all the same. I haven't heard bad things about your country, but rather the opposite - that Phillipines is a new fast developing country of our age. spread love to your country there! thank you for sharing

I am happy that you hear good things about the Philippines. Well yes we can be really united and passionate but sometimes in the process of showing our passion we hurt our fellow countrymen/women. I hope all is well with you and your country. Come by sometime and when I can I'll show you what the Philippines is all about.

I stay in India and you would have heard lot about it. It is one of the biggest democracy in this world and it has a vast cultural. It has many States and more than 16 regional languagues are spoken here. It is such a vast country that you love to visit each and every place. It is a developing nation, which is making its presence felt to the world. I am proud to be citizen of this country.
