Does being #1 or a high rank in a category on mylot help with earnings?

I'm currently ranked #1 out of 3,069 in the making money category and I was just curious! I haven't personally noticed anything but maybe one of you mylotter's has? 
My question is simple, do you think if you rank high in an area with a lot of other people that you'll generally earn more, or you haven't really thought about it? or welllll. What're your thoughts?
