To all the Filipinos around the world. Let us share to the world our rich heritage. I am starting this discussion so we can list down the many things that make our country unique and a wonderful place to call home . Cultural Heritage: intangible attributes We Filipinos are hospitable. Even the simplest family will give their room for a guest. When we eat in a public place we say "Let's eat or kain tayo!" We don't expect you to share but if you decide to we are more than willing to share our food with you. We kiss our elders hand as a sign of respect and greeting. Physical/Tangible Cultural Heritage: monuments, buildings, architecture, artifacts Banaue Rice terraces Natural Heritage: flora and fauna Bohol's chocolate hills Puerto pricessa - beautiful subterranean river

I am not a Filipino but I am very keen on traveling. The ones that I have met in person and talked to on My lot are really lovely and friendly people. I like the sound of their traditions and culture. I hope to go to the Philippines one day and do some island hopping and snorkeling around coral reefs. I would fly into Cebu and visit Bohol to see the amazing looking Chocolate Hills. I have heard that the palm fringed beaches in the Philippines are gorgeous looking. I am sure that it is enjoyable to travel around on the local ferries. The rice terraces must look really pretty and the architecture must be very interesting. Hopefully I would be able to buy a nice costume doll for my collection in the Philippines. I have read the Palawan is an exciting island to go to with lots of adventurous activities on offer. Yes, the Philippines seems to have a very rich heritage.

Don't forget the Sinulog of Cebu, that street dancing on the 3rd Sunday of every January. It's a festival that celebrates the child Jesus (Santo Nino) and the first Filipino Christians. Back then Cebu only had one street dance but today it's got lots of street dancing already. Almost all major Provinces of Cebu have street dancings of their own too. It usually happens during their feast days. As in Sinulog, these street dancings also depict history. Cebu, though small this island can be has lots of waterfalls like Kawasan Falls in Badian, Aguinid in Samboan, there's also one in Barili and Ginatilan to name a few.

And have you heard about that what we call the poor-man's food, Malunggay? Never underestimate that. Poor man's it may be, it is rich in nutrients. Search around the net about the benefits of Moringa (from its scientific name). Aside from vitamin C by eating it fresh (raw), and aside from making it a wound wash, the sun-dried version of Malunggay leaves has lots of Calcium in it, more than that of milk and there are more. If only I had the list. Other people are calling it "the complete food." So be pround of your Malunggay people. :)

I read a lot of blogs from people of your country, I love your landscape, and simplicity of life style. Most of them are 'Stay at Home Mom' and some of them have settled in US long ago. But the common feature I have found in them is their love for foods, and they are all very jovial with inclination towards a philosophical attitude. I do not know if all Filipinos are like them are not but I really like my Filipino friends at blogsphere.

A trivia for you, we have lots of small retail stores. The ones you can put up near vacant lots near your house or even in front of your house. I will take pictures and upload them so you can better understand it. That is how important food is. Hope you can visit our country in the near future. I would love to be your friend.
